Marriages

A Vermont marriage license can be obtained from any Vermont town clerk. A Marriage license costs $80 and a certified copy may be sent to you following the ceremony @ $10.00 per copy.

The link below is a Question-and-Answer letter on getting married in VT from the Vermont Dept. of Health.  A Link to Marriage License is directly below that.  Once completed, one or both individuals must return the application in person to the Town Clerk to obtain the actual license needed to get married.

The Walden Clerk’s Office is open Monday - Wednesday 9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.  The couple is responsible to make arrangements with an officiant to perform the ceremony. The following Justices of the Peace perform marriage ceremonies in Walden. Charges and fees for performing the ceremony are negotiated directly with individual Justices.
